Top tips for childcarers: Check your profile

Your profile is what families looking for childcare will see first, so you want to make sure you create the best possible first impression! Watch the video to hear from Rowan, a student childcarer on Inloco about the simple things you can do to boost your profile.

First of all make sure you choose a happy smiley photo of yourself, make sure it’s clear, in focus and well lit. Your profile photo is a chance to let families know something about you, so perhaps use it to show your interests – if you love animals, you could choose a photo of you and your pet.

Secondly, when filling out the about me section, take your time to share interesting and useful information about yourself. Perhaps you want to include your experience in child care, why you like working with children, what you most enjoy doing with children? For example if you love art, talk about how you love doing colouring and arts and crafts with the children you look after. Try to keep it friendly and open, and most importantly – make sure you check for spelling mistakes and typos to create the best possible first impression!
